PSALMS is the longest and most structurally complex book of the Bible. It is a collection from different writers in OT history. Among whom are Moses, David, Asaph and Korah. The latter two were Levites tasked as singers, musicians, and prophets, in temple service. A psalm is both poetry and song. It is written to express thoughts, feelings, and the life experiences of the writer, or of the community. They are composed to evoke an empathetic response from their readers or hearers. Included in the psalms are prophecies, including those that point to Christ, teachings, rebukes, expressions of anger, hope, love, faith, loss, joy, desperation; reflecting the full spectrum of human experience. Yet they are all said in prayer to the LORD. There is so much to learn and experience in the psalms.
