The Book of NUMBERS records the journey the Israelites took towards the Promised Land but failed to enter because of their own unbelief. It is a powerful real-life story of God’s steadfastness and faithfulness in dealing with a stubbornly rebellious people. It was left to the generation born after leaving Egypt to learn obedience so that they may enter the Promised Land. It is marked by many significant events, such as two census of the nation, the marching order of tribes when moving, 40 years of wilderness wandering, and the bronze serpent that God used to heal their sins.
