Bible: NEHEMIAH - OT History

The Book of NEHEMIAH covers the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem under the leadership of Nehemiah as governor. This was the same period as Ezra, in the time of the Restoration, when many Jews returned to resettle in Jerusalem and its surrounding areas. The Nehemiah was authorised by king Artaxerxes to rebuild the city walls, after the temple was rebuilt. It is a great study in leadership through life of Nehemiah in how he rallied and organised the returnees to rebuild the wall in the face of stiff opposition. He was exemplary in rectifying the sins and injustices of the people to restore their faith and walk with the LORD. He was a model of true spirituality.
