The Gospel of JOHN stands in distinctive contrast to the other 3 Gospels in its approach and style in presenting Jesus Christ. While the others present Jesus through His teachings and ministry, John directly declares and explains who He is. He is the Word of God, the perfect expression of who God is. He is God come as man, the “I Am” who is with us. He uses 7 “I Am” declarations and 7 signs of Christ to reveal Him to us. This Gospel is often represented by a soaring eagle as a sign of its prophetic character.
