Bible: ESTHER - OT History

The Book of ESTHER tells a compelling story of how God's providence to save His People worked through a Jewish girl who became queen to the Persian King, Xerxes. It told of the great hatred of Haman, an Amalekite high official in the empire, for Mordecai, a Jew who was his fellow official, and uncle to Esther. This hatred grew so great that he aimed to extermination all Jews in the empire. Mordecai called upon Esther to petition the king to save the Jews. It was a request that put Esther's own life at risk. It tracks how God saved His People through Esther's intervention. This came to be celebrated in the Festival of Purim.
