Bible: MATTHEW - NT Gospel

The Gospel of MATTHEW is traditionally recognised as written by the apostle Matthew. He highlights Jesus Christ as the Son of David, the Messiah, who will reign eternally. It is the Gospel that makes the most reference to the Old Testament. In so doing it emphasises that Christ has come to fulfill what God has revealed of His purpose from ancient times through His prophets. It collects together, in big sections, major teachings of Christ, such as the Sermon on the Mount and the Parables of the Kingdom, as well as what He did in ministry. It draws all to a climax with the death and resurrection of Christ and His Great Commission for the spread of the Gospel after His resurrection.
