The book of ACTS tracks for us the events surrounding the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was poured out according to the word of Christ and the promise of the Father. This is the birthday of the Christian Church and the beginning of its life, ministry and witness to Jesus Christ through the spread of the Gospel. The Church is empowered to do what Christ did when He was on earth - preach the Word, heal, deliver & demonstrate the Power of God to save. It records the acts of the Holy Spirit, the acts of the apostles, and the acts of the early Church, beginning from Jerusalem, to Judea, to Samaria, to the Roman Empire, and to the whole world.
